Chapters of Life^® can assist you in writing your life story, or help capture the memories from a specific event or time in your life—such as your wedding, a graduation, a once-in-a-lifetime vacation or a war experience.

Here are examples of some of the events or chapters we can capture in book form:

• Graduation: We can take photos of a graduate’s childhood and combine them with caption information and stories from their past. We can also leave space on each page where people attending the graduation party can write their own memories in their own hand. The photo album scrapbooks are keepsakes the graduates can take with them when they leave home.
• Letters home: If you have a loved one’s letters, we can type those into the
  computer, scan some samples and edit them into a keepsake memory book intertwined with photos to illustrate the topics discussed in the letters.
• Vacation: We can take your snapshots from a vacation and put them together in a photo scrapbook accompanied by caption information or journal entries so that the memories of that once-in-a-lifetime trip remain vivid.
• Weddings: We can attend the ceremony and shoot our own photos of the wedding and reception, then put those photos into a keepsake memory book to grace your coffee table or those of your parents. Or, with permission from the photographers, we’ll take your photos and captions, putting them together in book form.

What to Expect

We will meet with you to discuss the event you wish captured and determine how to proceed from there. You decide which photos, letters or memorabilia we use as well as how many we use. We take extra care with your precious items and transport them in a fire-safe container to ensu

re security.

We can interview you to capture the memories of your vacation or wedding or child’s growing up years, then transcribe those tapes and edit the information. We will put together a draft of the text accompanying the photos, and then give you as much time as you’d like to review the draft and make additions, deletions or corrections. to proceed from there. You decide which photos, letters or memorabilia we use as well as how many we use. We take extra care with your precious items and transport them in a fire-safe container to ensure security.

When all corrections are made, we will print, bind and deliver the number of copies desired. Clients also may request a DVD containing the audio interviews.

Options

We work with you to discuss all options, such as whether you want the interviews conducted on audio or video recorders, and whether you want to write the text or you prefer that we do it. We will also discuss with you whether you want the paperback or hardbound book, color or black and white, the paper to be used, dimensions of the book, the number of copies desired, and all other technical details.

Most books contain anywhere from 50 to 250 photos, depending on what the client desires. They are printed on acid-free paper trimmed in a predetermined size—5- by 8-inch, 6- by 9-inch, 7- by 10-inch, 8½- by 11-inch—whatever size the client prefers.

Payments are accepted at different stages throughout the steps of interviewing, editing and book production.

Getting Started

If you want us to attend and document an event with photos and/or on videotape, call us in advance to make arrangements.

If you would like us to use someone else’s photos, please obtain written permission from the photographers to use those photos in this keepsake book.

Before meeting with us, sort through the photos, letters or memorabilia you’d like captured in a book so you have an idea how extensive the project might be.
