Anyone is welcome to attend a meeting to find out more about personal history.
I can’t find contact information for the Assn of Personal Historians. Years ago I attended their annual meeting held in Portland, and heard a keynote speaker tell of her experiences as a child in Shanghai. Can you help me find her name and the title of the book she wrote? Thank you,
Hi Susan,
The Association of Personal Historians went defunct about five years ago, but the Northwest has an active chapter called Personal Historians Northwest. I was instrumental in organizing the 2006 conference, and the author you’re recalling is Ursula Bacon, who wrote
“Shanghai Diary: A Young Girl’s Journey from Hitler’s Hate to War-Torn China.” She shared her amazing story with participants at the conference.
Please let me know if you need anything else.
All my best ~
